In Helsinki sea side the old rug washing piers are in danger as they no more are actively maintained by Helsinki Port owning them. Helsinki City Planning Department got an idea to revitalize them by introducing new functions on the floating piers. Avanto Architects proposed prefabricated space elements that can easily be joined to create rich spatial compositions. To start with designed a small kiosk and a sauna that can be easily transorted to the piers - even by sea! |
